Christmas in Cheddar 2020!

Well if truth be known, none of us really know what we will be able to do this Christmas so we are aiming to let you know of the planned events and activities in your area. We will keep our hands poised over the mouse to update this information as necessary!

Christmas Lights!

The Cheddar Festive night which is usually held at the beginning of December will not go ahead this year for understandable reasons. The Cheddar Chamber of Commerce are hoping to bring some festive joy to the village by installing the beautiful Christmas trees which usually adorn many of the buildings throughout Cheddar. Plans for the installation are made and will be mobilised as soon as lockdown rules allow.

The Arts Quarter in Cheddar are encouraging local residents to make Cheddar festive and take part in their Window Wanderland, they are hoping to create a magical walking trail that can be explored and enjoyed by the whole community. Find out more HERE.

A visit to Father Christmas

There are a number of different options for visiting the big man himself this year in and around Cheddar.

Ocean Adventurers are running Christmas workshops where your little ones can create Christmas decorations, decorate festive gingerbread treats and make reindeer food. Father Christmas will make an appearance and invite the children to visit him in his grotto (social distancing rules will apply). Find out more HERE.

Wookey Hole’s winter wonderland will be open from Saturday 5th December for your chance to visit Santa in his grotto! Find out more HERE.

Or if you fancy a virtual visit with Father Christmas you can have your own Zoom call from the comfort of your own home all while raising money for Children’s Hospice SW. Find out more HERE.

Festive Food

If you are looking for somewhere for a festive lunch with friends, a celebratory Christmas evening meal or even Christmas Dinner on the big day, look no further.

Why not visit the Lion Rock Tea Rooms for a winter warmer, the gingerbread latte paired with festive scones looks like a winner to me!

If you are looking for somewhere to eat out for a top quality lunch or evening meal then you must try The Gardeners Arms in Cheddar, recently refurbished and under new management, the atmosphere, food and drinks are highly recommended. Their Christmas menu has not been released yet but you can keep an eye on their Facebook page HERE.

The Bath Arms are now taking bookings for Christmas Dinner and their menu look delicious! Check it out on their website HERE.
