Make a willow and paper lantern to take part in the Wake Up Wells Lantern Parade 2020 on 25th January 2020 - See full event details HERE

Use your creative flair on your own or with your family or a group to make a stunning lantern out of tissue paper and willow. Materials provided (but please bring or buy battery operated lights to light up your lantern). If you have secateurs, they would be useful too.

Tickets for lantern making are free and will include the material for one lantern making kit. You may be asked to pay for extra materials if you want to make a large lantern. All donations towards the cost of this event will be gratefully received. Thank you.

These workshops are suitable for all. Children under 7 will need help and should be accompanied by one adult per child.

If you are taking part or coming to watch, the Lantern Procession will leave the Bishop's Barn in Wells Recreation Ground on Saturday 25 January at 5.30pm and take in the moat walk, Bishop's Palace, Bishop's Eye, Penniless Porch, Cathedral Green. We will be led by the Bath Samba band, Jamma de Samba

Stay for a hot chocolate afterwards or to really warm you up, book advance tickets to our Family Ceilidh, featuring Antler Ceilidh band, and a Burns Night supper of Haggis, neeps and tatties at which starts at 7pm at Cedars Hall.

Tickets for the ceilidh are available separately from Cedars Hall at £15 per person or £40 for a family of 4, £10 for extra children available here
