Staff from SESC and Simon Carpenter, expert local geologist, will reveal the amazing fossils at this internationally important site where the world’s earliest known damsel fly fossil was found.
Join the team from Somerset Earth Science Centre for some fossil hunting fun on the coal heaps left behind from coal mining and now a geological reserve.
Wear suitable clothes & boots, bring collecting bags, snacks/drinks & hammers. Goggles provided.
It is not suitable for pushchairs or mobility vehicles.
Parking on Waterloo Road and town centre.
Meet opposite Radstock Museum.
Booking is essential, this is a free event but a suggested donation to Mendip Rocks! of £3pp would be appreciated.
