Wells Lantern Parade!

Saturday 25th January from 5.30pm to 6.30pm

Join us for this colourful, fun and lively Wake Up Wells community event.

The route starts at 5.30pm at the Wells Recreation Ground Bandstand and takes in the moat, Bishop’s Palace croquet lawn, Bishop’s Eye, Penniless Porch and Cathedral Green led by the Jamma de Samba 30 piece samba band.

Ahead of the lantern parade there are a number of workshops to give you the opportunity to make a lantern from paper and willow and join in the parade - they are not the kind that float away.

These workshops are suitable for all however children under 7 will need help and should be accompanied by one adult per child.

Project Factory is being supported again this year by Somerset Skills & Learning, who are funding the lantern making workshops on:

We need volunteers to help at the lantern making workshops and for marshalling the parade.
