2000 metal poppies have been planted in The Quiet Garden of The Bishop’s Palace in Wells in time for Remembrance weekend.

The poppies were planted by Siobhan Goodwin the Community Engagement Manager, Dan Vidler who conceived the idea for the 2018 centenary, and three volunteers from the Palace. After the original Somerset poppies project finished in 2018 it was agreed that the Palace should retain 2000 poppies in order to continue to display them inside the grounds.

The original display was created by local school children and will be on display in the garden until 17th November and it is an ideal, quiet and socially distanced way to mark the occasion of Remembrance.
