The Midsomerset Show’s annual hedgelaying competition is held each year on the third Sunday in February by kind permission of local land owners, and has become an established and well supported event in the Society’s calendar.

There will be both Open and Amateur classes with all competitors using the Mendip/North Somerset Style. It is a great opportunity for the experienced to showcase their skills and the inexperienced to practice and have-ago.

This ancient craft is currently experiencing resurgence in interest and popularity; a machine cannot replicate a highly skilled hedgelayer.

Cash prizes for both classes are awarded and cutting money paid to all entrants.
